Beauty on a Budget

Women ask me what my beauty secrets are...They think I'm 23-25, when actually I'm 31! My secrets? I work out and try not to sweat the small stuff. I also believe that you don't have to spend alot of money to look young. Here are my skincare picks:
  • St. Ives Apricot Facial Scrub

  • Avon True Porfection Skin Refining Cleanser

  • Biore Triple Action Astringent

  • Cocoa Butter - (works as a great moisturizer!)

Your Casual Wardrobe

Is your casual wardrobe working for you? Dressing casuallydoes not mean that you have to dress down or wear scrubby clothes, nor does it mean that you have to work really hardpulling it altogether. It does mean however that some thoughthas to be put into it such as starting with a base (pants, top andsweater/jacket) in a neutral color and then adding pieces.

To put more zip into your casual wardrobe start by expressingyourself using colors and prints creatively. Try new colors, color combinations, styles and accessories that are brighter and bolder than those in your career wardrobe. Color and style will boost your casual look and make you look and feel better.

1. Invest in good quality footwear and choose footwearthat corresponds with the weight of the fabric with which it is being worn.
2. To get the best look from your casual clothes choose styles that glide over your body and do not pinch, pull or squeeze. Bumps and excess weight are not hidden by wearing bulky clothes but rather accentuated.
3. Wear sportswear appropriately. For example, sneakersare intended for sports such as running, jogging or walking. Jogging suits are intended for jogging not for everyday activitie sun related to sports or exercise.
4. To look your best find jeans that suit your body type and are not tight. Here’s a link to the article, “Finding Jeans That Fit”
5. Whatever clothing choices you make choose styles; colorsand color combinations that make you feel better. Don’t wear anything that makes you feel self-conscious. What looks great on your best friend may not be best for you.

We Are All Artists

I have the belief that we are all artists in one form or another. When it comes to dressing ourselves we are expressing ourselves through the particular outfit that we are wearing that day. Our bodies are the canvas and the clothes are the paint. We blend colors and textures to create a mobile piece of art.

I love perusing fashion magazines to see all the creative and different ways that people put pieces together. When it comes to dressing yourself, put pieces on that you love, feel comfortable in, and compliment your body. It’s nice to follow trends, but don’t become a victim! Be creative and follow your instincts – who knows, you may just start your own trend J

Here are pieces that I can’t do without:
· Black and white striped shirt – a timeless, classic piece that you can dress up or down
· Tall high-heeled boots – great to wear with skirts during the fall – adds sassiness to an outfit
· Lightweight jacket that hugs your curves – for those summer nights out on vacation
· Pair of worn-in jeans – all my jeans are from Express and they’ve stood the test of time!
· Pair of Adidas tenni’s – soooo comfortable
· Frilly and cute long floral skirt
· Pencil slim denim skirt that falls just below the knee – a touch of casual sexiness to the wardrobe
