At-Home Manicure Freak

I'm pretty anal when it comes to getting a manicure. I've actually become an at-home manicure freak because I don't really trust nail salons to keep their utensils germ free. After all these years of giving myself manicures, I would say that I've become an expert at painting my own nails.

I'm pretty consistent when it comes to giving myself a manicure every week. I just can't stand it when my finger nails look crazy with chipped-up nail polish. Don't take it personal, but I shudder when I see other women wearing sandals or flip flops and the nail polish on their toes are jacked up!

Over the years, it seems like I've amassed a pretty good size collection of nail polish. However, for some reason I don't have dark purple (which some of you know is my favorite color). So I was pretty excited when I was sent Lippman's vivacious violet which has been dubbed "Call Me Irresponsible". Check out how it looks in the picture above.

I've always wanted to give my nails an artsy look, so recently I requested a sample of Nailene's nail art and french manicure kit.

I LOVE Nailene's french tip pen...so much easier and less messy to use. I've always worn white french tips, but I was in a sassy mood so I tried the black french tip pen. I also used the nail art for a sassier look ;)

The best part of giving myself an at-home manicure is rubbing Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream into my cuticles. It smells absolutely heavenly and keeps my cuticles soft.
