Staying Consistent with an Exercise Routine: When All Else Fails

Add exercise to your To Do list!
One of my goals over the next month is to lose some of the belly fat and to tone my muscles. I've already accepted that I can't have the same body I did when I was 21, so there's no use focusing on that anymore.

In a past post I offered tips on how you can stay motivated and inspired to exercise. Although I do practice what I preach, I have to admit that I still haven't been consistent with my exercise routine.

I've tried working out with my best friend so that I could have someone to be accountable to, but she likes to work out during the early morning and I'm just NOT a morning person.

I tend to make excuses for not working out - the most common one being, "I don't have the time." However, after taking inventory of the time I spend watching TV, I know that's a lame excuse. If I have the time to watch 2 hours of basketball (if not more) each week, then I have the time to actually go out and play basketball.

Well, just last week I figured out what works for me to exercise on a consistent basis. I have no idea why I never thought of it before...

I've incorporated exercise in my "To Do" list! When I write it down in my schedule, I'm more likely to exercise. I'm someone who thrives on completing things on a daily "To Do" list, so I can't ignore it when I look at that list several times a day.

Do you have any helpful tips to stay consistent with an exercise routine?
