Beach Date Outfit

Every once in awhile it's nice to take a break from the "normal" schedule and get to the beach and just watch the ocean...and the waves... I think it's good for the soul and spirit to be able to just stop and reflect on life. Recently, my fiance and I took a drive up to La Jolla Cove, which is real nice when it's not crowded. I considered it a "date", so I dressed up a little...

It was actually a bit chilly that day, so the wool hat came in handy. My fiance was really diggin' the hat, so I ended up giving it to him. He swears that men can wear that style of hat too, and I have to admit he does look good in it! If you like the hat too, check out Womens-Hats.com, and use promo code "ScalaPronto" at checkout for 20% off and free ground shipping! (Ends 12/31/11)

Last weekend I took a trip to Las Vegas and was inspired by all the fun and colorful window displays in Crystals at City Center, a luxury shopping mall next to the Aria Hotel, and The Forum Shops next to Ceasars Hotel. Here are just a few of my favorites...

There are alternative ways to score deals on designer clothing, and Chief Fashion Consultant of My Sister's Closet (They just opened a new store in San Diego!), Tess Loo, shares her top tips for consignment shopping in this article...Enjoy!

Looking for great designer, great quality pieces at a fraction of the retail cost? Then consignment shopping is a YES! If you are looking for wardrobe favorites, career clothes, a date outfit or a designer classic, MySister’s Closet is a great place to shop, try and buy. I was recently on the hunt for an investment designer piece of the season. I chanel-ed Karl Lagerfeld, and was blessed with a camel wool pea coat a la Coco Chanel, infused with black leather panels at the bracelet cuff and collar. It’s double-breasted and absolutely delightful. I love wearing expensive designer clothing that someone else has paid for the first time around. I paid $650.00 for the coat that at one time retailed for over $2200.00. I am happy and look and feel amazing. Thanks, Coco.

Winter Wedding Fashion Ideas

Letty's winter wedding
When we think of weddings, we usually picture a warm weather event, usually taking place during the summertime. However, this year many people were married on 11/11. A friend of mine actually got married on that day. It was a blissful wedding and the day was just full of good vibes. As we walked out of the church, the sun was getting ready to set, and the palm trees offered a nice setting.

I realize that for many people, planning an autumn wedding can be a challenge if you live in a cold or rainy weather region like some parts of the East Coast. My friend's wedding and browsing through the ArtsyWedding.com website inspired me to come up with some wedding fashion ideas to help you plan your winter wedding...

Skin Care Tips to Beat the Winter Blues

Skin Care
Even though it's still fairly warm here in San Diego, the winter skin blues have arrived. Yesterday as I was working at the computer, I found myself constantly scratching my face...which led to obsessing over my skin because they say that dry skin is one of the causes of lines and wrinkles!

Eyebrow Shaping Tips From the Experts

It wasn't until I was in my 20's that I paid attention to my eyebrows. My friends would have conversations about getting their "eyebrows done", which I ignored. I would also decline offers from my manicurist to shape my eyebrows. I just didn't think it was a big deal. Well, all that has changed. I get it now that nicely shaped brows frame and accentuate your face.

When it comes to grooming, I'm all about DIY, so I've turned to the experts who can help. GEE Beauty brow guru, Natalie Gee, shares her top five tips for shaping your eyebrows:

Think that Tiffany & Co. is just for glamorous jewels and gemstones?

Richard Lambertson & John Truex

In the world of fashion, sometimes it's good to expand and go on an adventure, regardless if you're fashion brand or a fashionista. Tiffany & Co. is doing just that with their leather collection, which I was able to ohh and ahh over during a showing at the Tiffany store in Fashion Valley Mall.

Giveaway: C-Xpressions T-Shirt and Tank Tops

As I've mentioned before, there are many creative and talented fashion designers here in San Diego. One inspirational designer I've gotten to know is Clyde Scott, Jr., who has created an urban clothing line for men and women which is available at C-XpressionsClothing.com. You can read my interview with him here.

Dress Up Day

It's a rare thing for me to dress up on a regular week day unless I'm going to an event. Most days I'm at home in lounge clothes sitting in front of the computer. But when I do go out to meet with clients or, on occasion, head downtown to Co-Merge Workplace for a change of scenery, I like to "dress up". Yesterday was one of those downtown days.

What I'm Lovin' Right Now: Merle Norman Long-Lasting Lip Polish

Merle Norman Lip Polish in Shy and Modern Princess
On any given day you can look into my purse and see more lipsticks and lip glosses than your local Sephora. I especially like lip gloss, though. There's something about shiny lips that make your face just light up. Even if you're not wearing any other makeup, it's lip gloss or lipstick that will help give you a more polished look.
