Valentine's Day isn't just about showering your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend or anyone else with gifts and love. You deserve love too! Why wait for someone else to give you gifts? I give you permission to spoil yourself on this day...and everyday for that matter!
Here are 5 gift ideas to show yourself some love...
1.The gift of beautiful, glowing skin. Forget all that fattening chocolate - or not. Here is some chocolate that's actually good for your face...
Shea Terra Organics has a premium dark chocolate exfoliating cream that smells absolutely divine, and it actually scrubs away all that dead skin on your face. I've used many exfoliators and none of them have worked as good as this one. It actually looks like brownie and smells like it too. Every time I use it I want to just taste it :)
2. The gift of full, soft hair. I think we can all agree that we care how our hair looks and feels. Shielo has a line of products including the Volumizing Conditioner that I've been using which are developed using natural-based formulas, are free of parabens, and cruelty free. Although I have thick hair, I've noticed that it tends to go limp and lifeless at times. I like the Shielo Volumizing Conditioner because it doesn't weigh down my hair.
3. The gift of fun jewelry. As a jewelry designer and maker, I feel that accessories can make an outfit. Even if you're wearing a plain outfit, you can express your unique personality through the jewelry you wear.
Cutey has a cute collection of charm bracelets that are fun and whimsical. Besides that, they're much more affordable than those Pandora bracelets!
4. The gift of peace and quiet. This is a gift you should give yourself everyday, actually. Grab a blanket and sit underneath a tree, stare up at the blue sky, and just RELAX. You've worked hard, no doubt, and you deserve at least 10 minutes of uninterrupted time to yourself. If anything, do it for your beauty and health!
5. The gift of an inspiring book. I've always believed that we each have a story to share that can help others. My friend Stephanie Quilao recently released a new book titled, "Death of a Road Warrior" in which she shares her very own personal story that so many women can relate to. This is one of those books that you just can't put down. It's gripping, but very inspiring. I can relate because I abused alcohol when I was young woman, not knowing that I was doing it to get away from all the hurt I endured as a teenager.
It doesn't matter what you give yourself this Valentine's Day...Just give yourself something and have fun, ok?
