The other day I was thinking back to an episode on the Oprah Show that featured lingerie - particularly bras. It was called the “Bra Intervention”, and I was surprised to discover that the majority of women (85%) actually wear the wrong size bra. Another mistake that women make when it comes to bras is not wearing the right type of bra with certain outfits.
I can certainly relate to this because for a long time I wore bras that were one size too big - not because I wanted my breasts to appear larger, but I didn’t like the feeling of being “confined”. What I’ve come to realize, though, is that having the right fit can make a huge difference in your confidence, how you look, and how you feel about “the girls”.
Here are a few things I’ve learned about finding the right fit in a bra:
- The straps should never be too tight or too loose. The majority of support should come from the band of the bra.
- The band should not ride up your back. It should fit horizontally across your body.
- Don’t wear an underwire bra that digs into your breasts. Why torture yourself like that?
I’m excited about the launch of this site, My Curves & Me, which is a membership-based (free) site for lingerie that will feature an online shop and exclusive offers. My intention this summer is to get my “sexy back”, so being a member of this site will inspire me to do just that!
