Skincare Is For Men Too (Shield For Men Review)

If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you know that I'm pretty particular when it comes to skincare products. I'm very conscious about what goes on my body because I know that all the stuff you put on your skin does get soaked up by the body and affects your overall health. Why do you think skin cancer is such an epidemic in our society today?

I've been encouraging everyone in my life to use natural or organic products - especially my fiance who still continues to use a few products that contain toxic chemicals. He's stayed away from my products because of the "girly" scents, and when I tell him to try something out, he asks, "Does it have glitter in it?"

So I was excited at the chance to receive a sample of Shield For Men's "Full Man Package" ($90), which includes the Moisture+Shield and the Wash+Protect for the face. My fiance was game to trying it out after I told him that it contained only natural and organic ingredients. Every once in awhile he uses cocoa butter lotion as a moisturizer if his face gets dry (very rare) and he washes his face when he takes a shower.

As my fiance was trying the products, the first thing he said to me was, "I feel metro-sexual right now."

He also noted that the products have a slight tea tree, musky scent to them. I tried the products myself and the scent does seem to stay on the skin, but you can only smell it if your nose is practically touching face. The cleanser has a gel-like texture to it while the moisturizer is very light and is absorbed by the skin quickly.

Shield For Men is one of the few men's skincare product lines that contain all natural and organic ingredients. The key ingredients in Shield For Men include: Organic virgin coconut oil, hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E, Pro-vitamin B5, Vitamin A, tea tree oil, decyl glucoside, organic aloe vera, green tea extract, ylang ylang, patchouli, rosewood, cedarwood, and xantham gum.

Andrew Rhee, the founder of Shield For Men, started the company several years ago when his skin kept drying out while he was traveling overseas. He searched high and low for a masculine skincare brand that was simple, safe, but sexy enough for a man to use.

If you think the man in your life could use a little help in the area of skincare, check out Shield For Men's website and get 30% off your purchase when you use code BEAUTYISWITHIN at checkout.

  1. Great tips specially to those want a perfect and beautiful inside and outside looks. But one way to maintain healthy skin is to avoid tanning salons. Indoor tanning salons claim that their method of tanning, by artificial sun, is safer than natural tanning because they mainly use UVA rays and limit the exposure with timers.
