3 Quick and Easy Summer Hairstyles

Braided bun hairstyle

When the weather heats up, it's time to get creative with the summer hairstyles. After all, a ponytail does get old after awhile, right?

I tend to get a little lazy with fixing my hair during the summer. I could wear it down and straighten it, but by the end of the day it ends up in a messy bun on top of my head. If you're the same way, try these 3 super easy summer hairstyles...

Braided Bun

This hairstyle is from Cutler Salon stylist, Kelsy Osterman, which is beautiful, simple, and different from the traditional bun...

Step 1: Put your hair in a ponytail where you would like the shape to be. Make sure to use hair spray to slick down any fly-aways.

Step 2: Create 2 or 3 classic or fishtail braids and secure them with an elastic. Pull them apart to create more width and texture, and for more of a messy feel.

Step 3: The final step is to create your shape out of the braids and pin.

You can get really creative with this! If you have fine hair, purchase extensions that match your hair and simply braid and pin to your ponytail base and wrap around like you would with your real hair.

Twisted Updo

Beauty blogger, Dulce Candy, shares this very quick and easy updo via the video below. Although she has dubbed this her "rainy day" updo, I think it's also great for those very hot summer days...

Braided Scarf Updo

My favorite hairstyle is this one shared by another beauty blogger, Carah Amelie...

  2. I have tried some of these summer hairstyles with my hair extensions and the end results were awesome and sported such hairstyles at various occasions. You can get more details on these extensions at Ludis online.
