Although fall is here and wearing pants may be the order of the day, in areas like Southern California where I live, skirts - even short skirts - are still ok to wear. However, even if you do live in cooler weather, you can still wear skirts with thick tights and boots.
What I love about fall in particular is that skirts can come in all types of fabrics such as wool, corduroy, or denim whereas in the spring and summer you generally only have cotton or a light polyester blend material to work with.
So, what would be the perfect fall skirt for you? Here are a few women’s skirts styles to consider adding to your wardrobe.
The printed mini skirt - Whether it’s tribal print, striped, or floral print, a mini skirt can be worn with a loose-fitting sweater or with a blazer and fitted blouse. I would wear the tribal print skirt below with a dark grey sweater, black tights and tall, knee-high boots.
Leather pencil skirt - Wear it with a simple blouse, cardigan sweater, or crisp white blouse and kitten heels for work. For night, you can wear it with sequined or lace top and booties for an edgier look.
The full skirt - This is a great alternative to the typical pencil skirt for work. When worn right, it can accent your waist and give you a more feminine look.
Wrap skirt - Whether it’s a mini or just above the knee, the wrap skirts for fall come in a variety of prints, patterns, and fabrics.
Maxi skirt - I love this type of skirt because you can wear it all year round. I love to wear maxi skirts with a loose, cozy sweater for fall.
