My Top 3 Styling Tools For Short Hair

Glitter bobby pins

Now that I've chopped off my long hair, one of my challenges is creating different hair styles. It seems like I don't have as many options as I did before, but the nice thing is that I don't have to spend as much time in the morning doing my hair. Sometimes I can wake up, run a brush through it, and go!

My favorite styling tools have changed since the haircut, so I wanted to share my top 3 tools for those of you who also have short hair and are looking for ideas to style your hair.

1. Round brush - I’ve had a round brush for awhile (I reviewed it here), but didn’t really use it very much when I had long hair. It’s much easier to give my hair some volume now using the round brush when I blow dry my hair.

Here is a video I found on YouTube that demonstrates how to blow dry your hair with a round brush to add volume...

2. Curling iron - Because I have an ombre hair color, it looks better when there are waves or movement in my hair. Most people say they like when my hair is curled or wavy versus just a straight bob, so my trusty curling iron has been put to work lately.

3. Bobby pins - Bobby pins are my best friends now that I have short hair. I even bought glitter bobby pins to add a little pizazz. On those days when I'm working at home and need to do my hair real quick to run make a run to the store, I like to put my hair in very loose twisted cornrows just halfway up my head and use the bobby pins to hold the hair in place.

  1. Good tips! Short hair can seem kind of limiting when it comes to creating different styles. I also prefer GHD tools.
