Shopping Tip: Raid Your Boyfriend's Closet

If you ever find that you have absolutely nothing to wear because you haven’t done laundry in weeks or you have a roommate/sister/mother who likes to “borrow” clothing from you, instead of running to the mall and wasting money, why not raid your boyfriend’s closet?

Unfortunately, my boyfriend is 6’2” and likes to wear sizes XXL or XXXL, so the closest thing I can get to wearing his clothing is a t-shirt to sleep in...Some guys do find that sexy, so I’ll stick with that.

5 Stylish Leather Jackets I Love Right Now

If there’s one item that can keep you cozy warm on a cold winter day, it’s a nice leather jacket. And when it comes to leather jackets, fortunately there are many styles to choose from this season. Here are 5 that I’m adding to the wish list...

1) The bomber jacket - Those of you who are old enough may remember the brand, Members Only, which created the famous jacket that everyone and their grandma wore. Well, the brand is alive and well in 2012. Exhibit A: The black funnel neck leather jacket below...

Enhance Your Beauty With Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions
Photo from Lash Design website

There are many things we can do to enhance our beauty, and I have to say that flirty eyelashes do make a huge difference. I've loved my glue-on eyelashes just because I have very short, straight lashes. Today I have this guest post by Belinda Darling who shares her love for eyelash extensions...

As I approach the big 35 (Yes, 35 IS a big deal. It’s baby steps from here to 40), I have occasion to indulge in the ‘I’m older than God’ game. You know, ‘I have been driving for 18 years. When 18-year-olds were being born, I was driving a CAR! I am older than God!’, or ‘I’m 35. I could, conceivably, have a 23 year-old-child. And they could have a child of their own. I could be a grandmother! I’m older than God’.

"You see jewelry in everything …you rush rush to the studio…You take a deep breath..."

That quote above is taken from Noritamy's website. Unfortunately, I don't share those same sentiments, at least not lately. My creative mojo has been in hibernation or on vacation. I stare at all my jewelry supplies and beads...and nothing.

I'm hoping by writing up this post, creating the spread above, and browsing through sites that I'll get that urge to create something new. Perhaps by reading this you'll get ideas for yourself on how you can spruce up your wardrobe with new jewelry...

Best Thrift Store Find Ever

Not too long ago I went to the Goodwill with a friend not really expecting to find anything. Browsing through the racks and about to call it a day, I'm suddenly jolted into excited mode when my friend brings over a pair of black boots...

Give Your Best Accessory a Boost

Girl smiling

I’ve said time and time again that your smile is your best accessory. A nice smile can brighten up your face, it can make someone else feel better, and it repels negative energy...So it’s important to take care of that smile through proper oral hygiene.

Teeth whitening is more of a cosmetic issue than a dental issue, per say, but it’s something that I’ve recently become interested in doing since I stopped drinking coffee. I’m just now noticing how much my teeth have yellowed because of the coffee drinking, and now I’m looking for ways to whiten my teeth. I’ve learned that there quite a few options:

DIY: Simple Upcycled Bangle Bracelets

Upcycled bangle bracelets

I know I promised this DIY post last week, but you know, life gets in the way and next thing you know days have flown by....I've been working on rewriting a new edition of a natural weight loss book which will be available on Kindle soon. So I've been focused on that.

Anyways, this is a project that I've been wanting to do for awhile now - which has been the story of my life. So many ideas, but so little time!

Skin Care Tips: November Is Healthy Skin Month

Woman with a facial

November is “National Healthy Skin Month”, so I want to pass on these skin care tips from Thomas E. Rohrer, MD, FAAD, a board-certified dermatologist in private practice in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts:

• Use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser that does not contain alcohol.

• Wet your face with lukewarm water and use your fingertips to apply cleanser. Using a washcloth, mesh sponge or anything other than your fingertips can irritate your skin.

Review: South Coast Medspa, Sorrento Valley

Not too long ago I wrote about the things that affect your self esteem and I revealed that one of my personal issues is my armpits. I had been thinking about getting laser hair removal for some time, so I finally decided to try it out.

I visited South Coast MedSpa's Sorrento Valley office, which is located just east of La Jolla right off the freeway in an executive building. I love the decor of their office and the receptionist is very nice.

Shortly after filling out the paperwork about my medical history, I was introduced to the physician's assistant who conducted a short consultation before doing the procedure. The actual session lasted less than 5 minutes because she was just treating my armpits. If you're going to have other parts of your body done, it might take longer.

My Top 3 Styling Tools For Short Hair

Glitter bobby pins

Now that I've chopped off my long hair, one of my challenges is creating different hair styles. It seems like I don't have as many options as I did before, but the nice thing is that I don't have to spend as much time in the morning doing my hair. Sometimes I can wake up, run a brush through it, and go!

My favorite styling tools have changed since the haircut, so I wanted to share my top 3 tools for those of you who also have short hair and are looking for ideas to style your hair.
