3 Amazingly Easy and Cute Summer Hair Styles

The time has come yet again to store away our winter wardrobes and break out the bathing suits and shorts. With summer right around the corner, you’ll most likely want to spend more time outside enjoying your day and less time inside getting ready for it. Whether you’re relaxing on the beach, grabbing drinks at a local bar, enjoying a nice dinner out, or dancing the night away at a concert, these featured hairstyles will serve you well all summer long.

Light Waves

If you choose to rock only one hairstyle this summer, this should be it. These waves are perfect for any time of the day or night, and go great with both casual and dressy outfits. This look works with any hair length and requires very little prep time (which is always a plus)!

Step 1: Blow-dry your hair using a round brush to give it a nice, smooth look.

Step 2: (For women with bangs only): Dry your bangs to the side using a blow-dryer and a round brush, as represented in photo A.

Step 3: Separate your hair into sections that are each between 1 and 2 inches and curl with a curling iron, as shown in photo B. Curl all sections in the same direction for a uniform look, or alternate directions for a fuller look.

Step 4: (Optional): If you want more volume, tease your hair at the crown of your head with a comb, or lightly tease some of the curls throughout until you reach your desired look.

Step 5: Set your look with hairspray.

Beach Braid

Ladies, we all know what it’s like to be lounging on the beach enjoying a good book or cocktail in one hand while holding the hair back from our faces with the other. If you want to win your fight against the ocean breeze, try this quick, effortless beach braid. It will have you embodying the perfect beach-chic look while keeping your other hand free (for another cocktail, perhaps).

Step 1: Before heading out for the day use a professional hair dryer on your hair with either a round brush (for a smooth look) or without a brush (for a textured look).

Step 2: Starting at the base of your head, separate your hair into 3 even sections and loosely braid them together.

Step 3: Secure the braid with an elastic hair tie.

Step 4: (Optional): If you want to give your braid an even looser, more relaxed look, gently move your hands through the top of your hair and the braid itself to reach your desired look.

Side Sweep

Who says that getting celeb-glamorous hair needs to take celeb-length time? With this look, red carpet-worthy hair can be yours in just minutes.

Step 1: Use a hair dryer and a round brush to dry your hair. Don’t worry if your hair doesn’t dry perfectly straight – it doesn’t have to!

Step 2: Brush all your hair to one side and secure it using bobby pins.

Step 3: Wrap sections of hair, each about 1 to 2 inches, around your curling iron to create nice waves.

Step 4: Lightly brush your hair to soften the curls.

Step 5: Set the look with hairspray.
