As I was putting together my arm party today, I realized that our arms and wrists have been partying like it's 1999. The arm party trend that made waves for the past few years continues, and I highly doubt it's going to go away anytime soon. As long as bracelets and watches exist, there will always be a party, right?
So what makes for the perfect arm party? Well, just like any soiree you throw, there are a few things that can make it "pop off"...
1. Variety - When you throw a party, you usually invite a wide range of people, right? It's the same for your arm party. Try mixing different types of bracelets together. You could wear beaded bracelets with friendship bracelets, or bangle bracelets with dainty chain bracelets. Don't be afraid to have a little fun like I do when putting your party together. You don't even have to limit yourself to one wrist. Why not just go buck wild and throw a party on the other arm as well?!
2. A Conversation Piece - With your arm party, you could add a conversation piece that stands out from the rest and will make people oooh and ahhh or inspire them to put together their own unique ensemble.
For many people, the watch is a great conversation piece. I've talked before about how a watch can be the life of the arm party because it's a focal point and commands attention.
I used to not like wearing watches and for a long time now I haven't worn a watch. I do like to window shop for them, though. I have been eyeing black watches lately like some of these Marc by Marc Jacobs watches - especially the black and gold chronograph watch.
Element of Surprise - When you throw a party, it's nice to surprise and enlighten your guests with something that makes the moment memorable. With your arm party you can throw in a bracelet that is totally unique or bold and colorful. Get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to wear jewelry pieces that you typically wouldn't wear.
I would normally pass on a piece like this J. Crew bracelet, but since I should probably practice what I preach, I could give it a chance...
