Angels are like diamonds. They can't be made, you have to find them. Each one is unique.
We've assigned a huge value to diamonds. A single diamond ring can go for millions of dollars. We're obsessed with the engagement rings that celebrities wear. It's just amazing to me how something that comes from the earth can cost so much, and that people who own or collect diamonds put so much time and effort into taking care of them.
I'm not saying that placing value on these treasures is necessarily a bad thing. Just for the record, I do like diamonds and sure, it would be nice to be wearing a big fat rock on my finger. I just think about some people who love diamonds, but don't love themselves. They take care of their precious diamonds, but they don't take care of themselves.
What if we spent as much time and energy treating ourselves like we treat diamonds?
Just like diamonds, we need periodic care to maintain our brilliance. Besides the obvious things like practicing good hygiene (I actually never knew you could clean diamonds with warm water), you should take time for yourself every day, if not every week. Make an appointment with the salon, get a massage, or create a spa day for yourself at home. Also, eating healthy foods and exercising on a regular basis has alot to do with how much we shine.
Have you ever noticed women admiring a diamond ring on their newly engaged friend's finger? Their faces light up, they smile, and they look at all the beautiful details of the ring. Now take that same idea and apply it to when you look at yourself in the morning everyday. Look at yourself with a smile on your face. Admire your individuality and unique sense of style. Shine bright and see how valuable YOU are to the world.
Where there are valuable diamonds, there are security guards that make sure those diamonds are not stolen. Do you protect yourself from ill-meaning individuals who want to steal your happiness and beauty away from you? Protect yourself by choosing to be empowered. Protect your mind by saying positive mantras to yourself and feel secure in the fact that you truly are beautiful.
Diamonds are stunning and gorgeous to look at...just like you. Remember that. And when you start to care for yourself like you would care for a diamond, people around you will begin to value you too.
