There's one thing that I can never get enough of: Jewelry. As a jewelry designer, I believe that jewelry is the icing on the cake when it comes to putting together a stylish outfit. This spring offers an array of styles that you can experiment with to create a new look or mix up with pieces from your current jewelry collection. Here are a few trends that I'm diggin' right now...

Yes To Campaign
Many of us spend a great deal of our lives saying "No". We say "No" to taking care of our inner beauty, "No" to trying and experiencing new things, and "No" to opportunities to make our lives extraordinary.

Beauty Tip: Treat Yourself Like You Would a Diamond

Diamond

Angels are like diamonds. They can't be made, you have to find them. Each one is unique.
--Jaclyn Smith

We've assigned a huge value to diamonds. A single diamond ring can go for millions of dollars. We're obsessed with the engagement rings that celebrities wear. It's just amazing to me how something that comes from the earth can cost so much, and that people who own or collect diamonds put so much time and effort into taking care of them.

I'm not saying that placing value on these treasures is necessarily a bad thing. Just for the record, I do like diamonds and sure, it would be nice to be wearing a big fat rock on my finger. I just think about some people who love diamonds, but don't love themselves. They take care of their precious diamonds, but they don't take care of themselves.

What if we spent as much time and energy treating ourselves like we treat diamonds?

OOTD: Casual Day

Everyday is a casual day for me, and I am so grateful for that! After about five days of being cooped up in the house because of the flu and cold, I finally ventured out yesterday to enjoy the perfect San Diego weather and do a little bit of work at my favorite coffee shop. It was actually nice to wear something other than leggings or sweats. The skirt and purple tank are from Forever 21 (old), my absolute favorite sweater of all time by Route 66 brand at KMart (old), sandals from Juil, black patent messenger bag from LeSportsac (similar), and necklace made by yours truly.

3 Elements of the Perfect Arm Party

Black and silver arm party

As I was putting together my arm party today, I realized that our arms and wrists have been partying like it's 1999. The arm party trend that made waves for the past few years continues, and I highly doubt it's going to go away anytime soon. As long as bracelets and watches exist, there will always be a party, right?

So what makes for the perfect arm party? Well, just like any soiree you throw, there are a few things that can make it "pop off"...

Dove's New Campaign Changed the Way I Look at the Selfie

All beauty and fashion bloggers enjoy taking selfies, right? Wrong.

I have a confession to make.

When I have to write up a blog post that consists of taking a selfie, I have to take a gazillion (Ok, maybe just 5-10) photos before I decide on one picture that I like. When I look at a picture of myself, I immediately look at my eyes to see if there are bags under them. 99.9% of the time there are bags, so I have to retake the picture at an angle that minimizes their appearance.

5 Cute Dresses to Spring Forward To

floral skirt at Urban Outfitters
Skirt and shoes at Urban Outfitters

Spring will be here pretty soon, and that always means pretty floral dresses, cute sandals, and my birthday!

My friend and I were in Urban Outfitters the other day shopping with her daughters, and we were treated with a blast from the past. Everything we wore during the 90's was on display: maxi dresses with the small floral print, A-line skirts made of rayon, and midriff cable knit sweaters. I took a picture of a skirt that is the same print from a pair of palazzo pants I wore back then...along with a pair of jelly sandals (women still wear these?) just for fun.

Beauty Struck: Tina Fey at the 2014 Golden Globes

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the 2014 Golden Globes Awards

I know, you might be tired of reading about the fashion and beauty at the Golden Globes. My inbox was bombarded with "Get the look" emails, but I have to say that only one celebrity really made me think, Wow, she is really beautiful, and that celebrity is Tina Fey.

Fitness Tip: Tell Your Mind to Shut the F*ck Up

Jogging Trail

Many of us make a New Year's resolution to get fit or lose weight, but instead of making that a goal for myself, I'm taking a different approach. In the process of training for the Hot Chocolate 5K (Yes, the chocolate was one of the reasons I'm doing this!) in March, I do hope to get in better shape and lose weight, but those are not the ultimate goals.

Trying Something New: Green Eyeliner

It's the New Year, so hey, why not try something new? After all, I'm always encouraging readers of this blog to get out of a beauty and fashion rut, so I have to take my own advice, right? As a matter of fact, my friend and I have challenged ourselves to do something new each day, so today was the day to wear green eyeliner.
