Sarah Jessica Parker All Over the Place

If you're a Sarah Jessica Parker fan, you probably already know about her "Bitten" line for Steve & Barry's. Well, her latest collection is out. Not too long ago I visited the Steve & Barry's here in downtown San Diego and I have to say that I was a bit impressed with the Bitten line considering the very low price points.

Like many actresses, SJP is capitalizing on her popularity. Amidst all the buzz around the Sex & The City movie, she celebrated the launch of her new perfume, "Covet", at the Champs-Elysees Sephora in Paris, France. Yeah, Sarah Jessica Parker is definitely milking the milk. I ain't mad at her though. I'd probably do the same thing :)

At the launch of "Covet" she signed pictures and perfume bottles for her fans...

Sex and the City Buzz and Giveaway!

So, all the buzz is about the Sex and the City premiere in London where Sarah Jessica Parker wore this uh, interesting hat. The minute I saw it I thought, Oh, yeah, everyone is going to have a field day with this one! But leave it up to SJP to cause all this hoopla. Carrie Bradshaw wasn't exactly the most conservative dresser, so it would be just like her to wear something like this.

Bongo Is Still Around?

If you grew up in the same fashion era as I did, you probably remember when the Bongo brand was huge. HUGE. It was probably as big as Guess when they had those acid-washed jeans with the zipper at the ankles. All you 80's fashion fans know what I'm talking about!

Well, I had no idea that Bongo was still even around until I came across these photos of Kim Kardashian who is the "new face" of Bongo sporting Bongo gear at their fall launch in Los Angeles...


And speaking of Bongo, I did come across these cute Bongo dressy ballet flats that would be great for fall...

Victoria Beckham: The Fashion Icon

Mention the name Victoria Beckham these days and many of us think "fashion icon". The title is rightfully deserved because I still have yet to catch her in a "No, No!" outfit! I love this Azzedine Alaia dress she's wearing...

The other day I watched a re-run of the Ellen Degeneres show where Victoria Beckham came on to share some of her fashion tips. She admitted that she always, always wears heels. I have to agree that wearing heels does make you feel a bit more confident - not to mention more sassy and sexy ;) And I do like that she wears pencil skirts which illustrates her classy style.

I recently watched a documentary on the life of Victoria Beckham in which she was portrayed (I say "portrayed" because who knows how much of it is true) as a young woman who wasn't happy with how she looked. She didn't like her teeth, her nose, etc., so she did what many celebrities do - she got plastic surgery. There was a time when I would have judged her for doing that, but I now realize that it serves no purpose for me.

Many women look up to her and admire her for the kind of lifestyle she lives. After all, when you have a husband that looks like David Beckham does, it's hard not to want that kind of life and want to look that way.

Beckham recently came out with her own book, That Extra Half an Inch (Read a review of the book...), in which she dishes her thoughts and experience about fashion. I have yet to read the book but I think I might just grab it the next time I'm in the bookstore...or buy it at Amazon.

Adventures In Celebrity Lives

Sundays are a day to wind down and although I don’t do “Naked Sundays” like Christina Aguillera, I do let down my hair and take a little break from all the fashion news I write over at The Runway Scoop.

Yes, Sundays are a day to do a little snooping around the blogosphere to indulge in just a wee tad bit of celebrity watching. I say a little amusement is ok - even if it’s at the expense of a celebrity. After all, they are in the entertainment business, eh?

So first stop was Manolo’s Shoe Blog where he points to this article on three times makes it a trend. I’ve always associated red heels with hookers, so it’s going to take some time to get used to this…

Next stop: Perez Hilton. Oh, yes, I know, as much as I say we shouldn’t get too caught up in celebrity lives, I just had to go there…On a lighter note (no pun intended), here’s a post with some positive vibes…Cameron Diaz’s hair does look very cute. Justin Timberlake, eat your heart out ;)

How To Get That Celebrity Look

I consider myself a pretty frugal person and I love, love finding a good bargain. It’s just like winning the lottery! Prime example: I went to Marshall's the other day and bought a jacket, a dress, two tops, and a bag of chocolates for $16. Yes, friends, $16!

One blog that I like to check out is Frugal Fashionista - a photo blog with pictures of celebrities and how you can get the same look with inexpensive pieces. Frugal Fashionista is certainly a specialist in the photo blogging arena. Now if we could find a Toronto rhinoplasty specialist on a budget ;)
