Sex and the City Buzz and Giveaway!

So, all the buzz is about the Sex and the City premiere in London where Sarah Jessica Parker wore this uh, interesting hat. The minute I saw it I thought, Oh, yeah, everyone is going to have a field day with this one! But leave it up to SJP to cause all this hoopla. Carrie Bradshaw wasn't exactly the most conservative dresser, so it would be just like her to wear something like this.


Sex and the City arrives only in theaters on May 30th, 2008 and it promises to answer all of the lingering questions – will Carrie and Big finally tie the knot? Can Samantha really be satisfied with just one man? Will Charlotte ever get pregnant? Can Miranda and Steve actually live happily ever after?

"My beauty tip for anyone is to remember to exfoliate. Use a scrub once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells to reveal fresh, new and glowing skin."

"My #1 beauty tip is to get rid of pimples! I'm in my 30s and still get them. Anyway, if you feel a new pimple coming up, rub a very small dab of toothpaste into it and leave it alone! The toothpaste does two things: 1) reduces the redness 2) brings the toxins to the surface. If possible, do this at night before you go to bed. Once the puss surfaces, you should use a blackhead remover to extract the puss (do not use your fingers, you introduce germs/dirt to the pimple and bruise your face). Your pimple will clear up much faster with this easy remedy."

When I first started this blog, it was just a way to share my knowledge of fashion and to help women realize their true beauty - both inner and outer beauty. Never did I think that I would be approached by PR people or companies wanting me to review their products. Those types of things were for fashion magazines, right? Well, times are changing and bloggers now have quite a bit of influence when it comes to the fashion and beauty industries.

As part of my blog honor pledge I will disclose that I was approached by M80, a firm that represents Dove. I was asked if I wanted to try out the latest Dove hair care products and do a giveaway here at Beauty Is Within. Since I'm a big supporter of Dove projects, I obliged to try out what they had to offer...

Can you just imagine the big smile on my face when I opened up my mailbox today and was greeted with the smell of sweet cucumber and green tea! You would have thought I had never seen or smelled shampoo ever in my life ;) Of course, the photographer in me just had to take a picture (with props, mind you!) I will be doing a full review of the shampoo and conditioner in a couple weeks after I've tried them out...
